The Polk City Florida website is undergoing modifications to provide enhanced access to documents for disabled individuals who are visually impaired and to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to make reasonable accommodations. City Commission

Responsibilities

All policy items are decided by the City Commission, which is empowered by the City Charter to pass Ordinances and Resolutions, adopt regulations and appoint the City Manager.

At the first regular meeting in April of each year, the Commission selects two of its members to serve as Mayor and Vice Mayor. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are elected by a majority vote of the Commission.

Meetings

City Commission Meetings are held in the Polk City Government Center located at 123 Broadway Blvd SE, Polk City, Florida on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.
